Up to 215 points on one egg, and almost half of that is proving who found it first. Reports that a moderator agrees with earn +3; junk reports cost -1.
Points are how the site remembers who did the work.

Removed or merged eggs give their points back. Gut a finished write-up and its +10 goes back too (it returns when you restore it, but never pays twice at once). Every point is a logged event you can see on your profile.
Fastest way up the board: Quick post the moment you find something, then come back and finish the write-up. Featured picks go to write-ups that make the next hunter's life easy: clear steps, good evidence, the right connections.
There's a leaderboard for every basket and one for the whole site, all-time and last 30 days. Ties break on verified discoveries. Prizes? Maybe. We'll see.
